Rebranding Flourish and the Crazy World of Flowers

Behind the scenes

You may have noticed that Flourish recently received a little facelift.  That makes it sound so light hearted.  Like I woke up one morning and thought to myself, “Let’s change things up.”  The truth is, a complete rebrand of your business is no joke and not for the faint of heart.  It is a journey filled with frustration, self-doubt and, in the end, exhilaration.

If you read an article about how to attract your ideal client with your brand you will read little gems of knowledge that sound something like this: “Identify your ideal client.  Where do they shop?  What hobbies do they have?  What gives their lives meaning?” and “Your brand should speak to your client and tell them about your company’s personality and core values”.  Geeze. That is a lot of pressure to put on Flourish’s logo and color palette.

During this whole process I have had a lot of time to think about why I do what I do. Because, let’s be real, I am never going to become a millionaire designing wedding flowers.  This business is hard.  Filled with long hours and dirty buckets, sore feet and ragged manicures.  But I love what I do every day.  I love that I get excited when a new couple contacts me.  I am thrilled when lilacs are blooming or when I make contact with a new flower farmer.  I am hopeless, I am a lifer and I love it.  Love makes us do crazy things.
