I think it is so strange when someone tells me, “Wedding flowers are a waste because flowers just die.” That is true, flowers do die. But guess what? The food gets consumed, alcohol is drunk, the gowns get worn, music gets listened to and the cake gets eaten. Aside from the photography, flowers actually last longer than any other aspect of your wedding day. They will be around for a few days to a week after the wedding. They are still around long after the leftover cake is dry and stale.
Flowers are what makes a party a wedding. The flowers are what dresses the space and the people and adds a sense of celebration and importance to the day. Only on the wedding day do you carry a bouquet of perfect flowers, made just for you, in your hands. That bouquet announces, “I am in love, I am happy and I am the very best part of everything life has to offer.”
So please don’t tell me you do not like flowers because “they just die”. It is like saying you do not like the sun because it is going to set or you do not like birthdays because they are only for one day or you do not like puppies because they will just grow up and become dogs. Beauty is fleeting. That is what makes it special.
