Real Weddings Magazine Cover Shoot

Sep 14, 2010   //   by Shannon   //   Blog  //  2 Comments

Flourish was happy to contribute a few bouquets to the Real Weddings Magazine cover model shoot for the Summer/Fall issues.  These pictures were taken by True Love Photo.

The bouquet above was my take on a sophisticated beach look.  The bouquet included roses, ranunculus, scented geranium, sweet pea, peonies, tulips and various grasses and berries.

This bouquet was made with orchids, sweet peas, trachelium and stock.  I love the colors!

I am rediscovering my love for the presentation style bridal bouquet.  This bouquet was made to cradle in the crook of the arm.  It featured orchids, Chinese lanterns, ranunculus, brezillia berries and trachelium.

This is my sexy-rexy bouquet!  I love the cherry red colors of the flowers.  This yummy bouquet included callas, pink jasmine, amaranthus, garden roses, statice and peonies.  A little extra touch came in with the use of some vintage, teal colored seed beads.

Liz and Joe love each other!  Look at this picture.  Can’t you see so much happiness in their future?

I would want no less for the girl I have known since she was knee high to a grasshopper.  I have known Liz since she was about 8 years old.  In fact, I sat next to her brother Josh in high school math.  Josh and my husband Jim were in a band together in the early 90′s (Check this out for a bit of a trip back in time: The Rosebuds). So when I heard Liz was getting married my reaction was , “Whaaat?  Is she of legal age??”  Um yeah- time flies.

Liz and Joe are a musical couple.  Both music teachers and musicians in their own rights.  Joe plays and teaches the trumpet and Liz is an opera singer and teaches voice.  They are going to have some talented kids!

When Liz first started talking with me about her wedding flowers she used descriptive words like fun, bright, light hearted.  She had fabric swatches we used for the inspiration of royal blue, orange and hot pink.  I love a girl who loves her color!

Liz and Joe’s photographer was none other than my bestie, Beth with True Love Photo.  If I have said it once, I have said it a million times, Beth rocks my socks with her creative wedding photography.

Beth and I were talking one day before the wedding and the conversation went something like this:

Beth: I want to do a really cool and crazy pre-shoot for Liz.  Because all my good ideas come from you, Shannon, what should I do?

Shannon: Well, I am the queen of all inspiration.  How about finding an awesome tattoo parlor and stage her gettin’ some ink?

Beth: Shannon, you are the wind beneath my wings.***

***May or may not have been edited to make me look good.

Liz’s bouquet was peonies, roses, hydrangea and hypericum berries.  Pretty!

Congratulations to Liz and Joe.  You guys make beautiful music together!  I know, groan.
