Cascading Bridal Bouquet

Cascade bridal bouquets are making a comeback in a big way. But this is not your Mother’s bridal bouquet.
Cascading bouquets can be made with branches, ribbons and charms, greenery and of course flowers. Do not be afraid to use color and texture to make a statement and make this traditional look reflect you and your personality.

Real Wedding Wednesday- Jennifer and Josh!
How much do I love these pictures I just received of Josh and Jennifer’s wedding from photographer, Sarah Maren? I want to run away with them to Mexico, live in a hut on the beach while surviving only on our love, Mai Tais and ripe mangos.
Jen and Josh had a fairytale wedding this past October. I just adored the colors. Raspberry, tangerine, lime and peach (what is it with me and fruit today?) colors blended to give their event a richness and warmth that was second only to the love shining in their eyes.
Sarah is an amazing photographer! Check her out- you will thank me. As an added bonus her super cute husband, Dustin is her second shooter. You get a double dose of talent on your wedding day.

Super Deals! Hurricanes at Bed Bath and Beyond
My poor van is in the shop for repairs. So, yesterday I was vehicle-less and at my Mother’s shopping mercy. Lordy, that woman loves to shop! Some of her most beloved stores are the ones that carry mountains and mountains of housewares, cleaning supplies and general gadgets. Bed, Bath and Beyond is a favorite haunt of hers.
We were at the Roseville, Ca location of Bed, Bath and Beyond when I spotted theses deeply discounted beauties. They would make a wonderful centerpiece at an event. They are large enough to make a nice statement in the center of a guest table. They could hold either a short pillar candle or a floating candle. I think the largest of the three hurricanes is around 15″ tall. It looked like they had about 10-15 sets left. But I am sure you could get more if you went to a few stores. Crazy Good Deal!!! Marked down from $29.99 to $7.49 for a set of three!
These hurricanes would work for any time of year depending upon how you accented them.
How would you accessorize and decorate your wedding with these hurricanes?
Comic relief during wedding planning
Every bride-to-be knows that even the most helpful groom never quite reaches the same level of excitement about wedding planning that she does — which is what makes Porn for the Bride, a new release from Chronicle Books, so very funny.
This fun little gift book features 40 full-color images of attractive, well-dressed grooms-to-be saying exactly what every planning weary bride would love to hear. It would make for a great laughs at a bachelorette party or a bridal shower. Everyone needs little bit of comic relief from the stress of wedding planning.
Here’s a sneak peak at some of the pages, courtesy of Chronicle Books.
Floating cake base
I love to place cakes on a floating base. It adds a beautiful water feature to the table and is an interesting detail that your guests may not have seen before.

Bride’s Choice Award, 2010
I just received notice that Flourish was voted as Wedding Wire’s Bride’s Choice for florist in the Sacramento Area. What an honor to be chosen as the best of the best by our past brides and grooms.
We are looking forward to an amazing year!
Real Wedding Wednesday- Jodi and Mike

I just received these images from True Love Photo of Mike and Jodi’s wedding at Lake Natoma Inn.
Jodi and Mike were so fun to plan with! The first time I talked to Jodi on the phone she told me she wanted funky and fun floral designs with timeless appeal. She then started to describe all the fab elements they were having at their wedding: photo booth, peacock feather accented fashions and decor, Converse tennis shoes for the guys and green satin shoes for the bridesmaids. All I said was, “Jodi, you had me at funky and fun wedding flowers!”
